Oh, where do I even begin with Julie and Louden’s unforgettable Alaskan wedding? As their photographer, being part of such a spectacular day was nothing short of magical. Even though they were already officially hitched in a Texas courthouse, they wanted to celebrate their love in a way that truly resonated with them and their closest family and friends. And what better place to do that than in the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska?
From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be something special. Louden’s sister and brother-in-law had poured their heart and soul into transforming their property for this occasion. All summer, they tended to the lawn and prepared a perfect spot with vibrant fireweed fields, the Kachemak Bay glaciers, and towering mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
The ceremony itself was a beautiful blend of heartfelt moments and artistry. The cross that stood as their arbor was adorned with the most stunning floral arrangement I’ve ever seen. It was not just a gorgeous piece of decor, but a symbol of their shared faith. I took so many photos of that cross framed against the scenery, each shot more stunning than the last.
After the “I Dos” were exchanged, the day shifted into this wonderful celebration of love and life. Julie and Louden were totally in their element, surrounded by family and friends who were there to share in their happiness. The atmosphere was so joyful, it was infectious. Kids were running around, climbing trees, and sneaking macarons from the desert display!
And then the dancing began! I’m telling you, not a single soul was left sitting. The dance floor was jam-packed as everyone cut loose in celebration of Julie and Louden’s union.
Capturing these moments with my camera was such a privilege. From the sweet glances between Julie and Louden to the dancing and everything in between. There’s an inexplicable magic in witnessing two people in love surrounded by the people who love them, and being able to document those moments is why I adore what I do.
Thank you, Julie and Louden, for letting me freeze these beautiful memories in time. Your big Alaskan wedding might have been the ‘second’ wedding, but it was the sort of love story that felt absolutely timeless!
