Bee and Will’s elopement at Grewingk Glacier was one for the books, and I’m about to tell you all about it! Elopements are often seen as intimate, adventurous, and a little rebellious. For Bee and Will, their elopement was all of that and more—it was a true escape into nature, bonding them forever alongside the stunning landscapes. What made this day so incredible wasn’t just the beauty of their surroundings, but the candid moments and shared experiences that defined them!
We began our journey aboard a water taxi, a typical part of the Homer, Alaska experience. It carried Bee, Will, Will’s parents, and myself across the deep and moving waters to the Saddle Trail, in the heart of Kachemak Bay. Weather in this part of the world can be unpredictable, but not even a never ending downpour of rain could dampen the spirit of this day.
Once on shore, Bee disappeared into the woods to change into her wedding dress! The ultimate transformation from hiker to bride in one moment was everything. Meanwhile, Will stood by the water’s edge waiting for her. The first look between them was ethereal. Bee emerged from the trees, her dress delicate, and made her way to Will.
The ceremony itself was simple, raw, and profoundly intimate. Bee and Will exchanged vows, and this was such a special moment that I felt lucky enough to be able to capture.
When they said their “I do’s”, a quick picnic by the water was on the agenda. What better way to celebrate a commitment than with a meal shared in one of the most stunning locations? Moments like these are the ones that linger with you—a reminder that happiness can be found in the simplest of shared experiences.
All too soon, it was time to begin our hike back to the shore. The trail that had led us to this special moment was now the pathway leading us back. Bee and Will explored the beach as we awaited the boat that would take us back.
Overall, Bee and Will’s elopement was everything and more. If you’d like to see a glimpse into their day, keep on scrolling for more!
