4 Intimate Wedding Venues In Homer Alaska That You Have To Know About

March 23, 2026

There’s a certain kind of wedding that just works in Homer and it’s not the kind with a packed timeline and a 200-person guest list but something smaller, a little slower, and a lot more intentional. The kind of day where you actually get to be present instead of feeling like you’re moving from one thing to the next.

If you’re planning an intimate wedding or elopement here, you probably already feel that pull. The mountains, the water, the quiet—Homer kind of does half the work for you.

The only tricky part? Figuring out where to actually do it.

So instead of giving you a MASSIVE list of venues you’ll never look at again, I pulled together a few spots in and around Homer that I either love, recommend often, or would genuinely be excited to photograph at.

Homer, Alaska Intimate Wedding Photographer | Laurel Johnson

Hi, I’m Laurel, the Homer wedding photographer behind Flaurel Photography and a proud local. I’m drawn to the moments most people miss—the in-between, the quiet, the ones that actually stick with you.

I work with couples who care more about experiencing their day than performing it, and want photos that feel like them, not something pulled from a checklist.

If that sounds like your kind of day, I’d love to be a part of it. And if you’re still in the planning phase, keep reading and feel free to reach out with any questions along the way.

4 Weddings Venues In Homer, Alaska That Are Must Sees

Take a look at 4 of my personal favorite wedding venues in Homer, Alaska that I just know you’re going to love for your own intimate wedding or elopement.

1. Between Beaches

Between Beaches is one of those places that feels less like a venue and more like a whole experience.

It’s out on MacDonald Spit in Seldovia, so getting there involves hopping on a water taxi from Homer which honestly just sets the tone right away. Once you’re out there, everything slows down. There’s no traffic, no distractions, just ocean on both sides (you can see both the sunrise and sunset here!) and a stretch of land that feels pretty untouched.

The property itself has five cabins and a beach house, so you can actually turn your wedding into a full wedding weekend with your people instead of trying to fit everything into one day.

Here’s what you’re working with:

  • Up to 40 guests total
  • Sleeps up to 24 overnight
  • Private access to two beaches
  • Sauna + wood-fired hot tub
  • Kayaks, paddle boards, and tidepooling right outside
  • On-site art gallery

What I love about this spot is that it naturally creates space for the moments you actually remember. The night before your wedding, hanging out by the fire. Slow mornings. People coming and going between the cabins and the beach.

This is a really good fit if you:

  • Want your wedding to feel like a shared trip, not just a one-day event
  • Love being outside (and are okay leaning into that)
  • Care more about the experience than keeping things perfectly structured

2. Homer Seaplane Base

If you want to keep things intimate but a little more straightforward for your guests, the Homer Seaplane Base is a really solid option.

It’s right on Beluga Lake, so you still get that water + mountain backdrop, but without the extra logistics of getting across the bay or coordinating travel.

It’s one of those venues that makes things feel simple but in a good way.

What you need to know:

  • Up to 40 guests for a dinner-style wedding
  • 8 cabins on-site (sleeping up to 28 guests)
  • RV sites + dock access
  • Full-service restaurant + bar
  • Caterer’s kitchen + indoor event space
  • Option for single-day or full weekend rentals

And yes, watching float planes take off throughout the day is actually pretty fun.

This is a really good middle ground if you want something intimate, but still want a bit of structure and ease for everyone involved. Plus, the event space has incredible lighting from the massive windows overlooking Beluga Lake!

This is a great fit if you:

  • Have guests traveling in and want things to be simple
  • Want a more traditional flow (ceremony → dinner → celebration)
  • Like the idea of everyone staying close together without going fully off-grid

3. Alaska Lighthouse

It’s an actual lighthouse. This wedding venue just outside of Homer is definitely meant for the couples who are a bit more adventurous and want a true intimate experience. Like, you, your partner, and a handful of your favorite people.

The Alaska Lighthouse is about 40 minutes outside of Homer in Ninilchik, and it’s set up specifically for elopements and micro weddings. It’s also run by a wedding planner, which makes a big difference when it comes to how smoothly everything comes together.

What you need to know:

  • Best for up to 10 guests
  • All-inclusive elopement options available
  • Full kitchen + dining space
  • Master suite on-site
  • Greenhouse + sauna
  • Views of Cook Inlet and Deep Creek

It feels less like you’re piecing together a wedding and more like stepping into something that’s already been thoughtfully designed.

You don’t have to overthink timelines, vendors, or logistics—it’s handled in a way that lets you actually stay present.

This is a great fit if you:

  • Want something simple, intentional, and low-stress
  • Don’t need a big guest list to make it meaningful
  • Like the idea of having guidance built into the experience

4. Bear Creek Winery

If you’re wanting something that feels a little more like a garden dinner party than an elopement, Bear Creek Winery is such a good option.

It’s just minutes from town, but once you’re there, it feels tucked away and quiet. The space leans more garden-style, with a gazebo for ceremonies and plenty of space to gather afterward.

What you need to know:

  • Botanical garden setting – a great option for spring and summer weddings!
  • Gazebo ceremony space
  • On-site lodging
  • Wine discounts for weddings
  • Close to downtown Homer

This is one of the easiest venues to make your day feel elevated without overcomplicating anything. You can keep it simple or dress it up depending on your style.

And honestly, having good wine built into your wedding day doesn’t hurt.

This is a great fit if you:

  • Want something relaxed but still a little more “traditional”
  • Love the idea of a garden-style wedding
  • Are a wine connoisseur
  • Care about good food and drinks being part of the experience

So…which one feels the most like you?

That’s really what it comes down to. Not which one is the most popular or which one looks best on Instagram. Just which one fits how you actually want your day to feel.

If you’re still figuring out locations, timelines, or what kind of day even makes sense for you, I’m always happy to help you think it through. Get in touch with me here!
